Changing World Views

When I was a child I viewed the world as the extension of my awareness. I was on the inside looking out. “The world is a clam and I’m happy.”

When I became a caregiver I came to view the world as disenfranchising to care-receivers. Only limited options were available…and sometimes none. Often I needed to advocate for help that was not found. I did my best. Outside my bubble, I couldn’t relate experiences to “unindoctrinated” others.

Now I am old and broken. There is no clam, no bubble. Only a world of experiences. But you know what? I’m still happy.
